Teacher Housing Projects

Teacher housing can helps schools hire and keep great teachers. This is especially true in rural parts of New Mexico. In some areas, there are not enough homes for teachers to live in. When schools can offer housing, more teachers say yes to these crucial jobs and stay longer. This helps students learn better and have the same teacher all year.

The State of New Mexico supports teacher housing as part of school funding because it helps make sure every student has a strong education. It’s an important part of building better schools across the state.

Applications are now CLOSED while we work to rebuild this program.

A small, modern apartment complex is shown as example of a teacher housing project that could be funded by the State of New Mexico in rural areas.
