During the 2025 Legislative Session, HB-2 appropriated $60M to the Public School Facilities Authority (PSFA) for the purpose of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, including the costs of upgrading diesel school buses to electric buses.
At this time, the PSFA will consider school districts’ and charter schools’ requests based on a first come first serve basis, as the Authority will evaluate the need. If at such time, the state-wide interest shows to be substantial, a scoring mechanism will be used to appropriate the funds.
Please fill out the signed acknowledgment and certification of fund uses when submitting the application, along with a quote showing the anticipated costs associated with the scope of the appropriation.
The application will be open from July 15 through August 31, 2025. Funds earmarked for this appropriation are tentatively scheduled to be distributed by September 15th, 2025. Dependent on the remaining availability of the appropriation, a second round of applications will open by September 1st through October 15th, with the distribution by November 1st, 2025
