Adequacy Standards
The Adequacy Standards are a measuring tool that evaluates existing schools against established minimums to identify space deficiencies.
Statewide Adequacy Standards ensure all public school buildings in New Mexico meet basic needs for safety, learning, and technology. These standards focus on what schools need to teach students well and guide how big classrooms should be, the kinds of spaces schools need, and how buildings should be built or repaired.
Adequacy Planning Guide
The Adequacy Planning Guide (APG) is a reference tool for school design. It incorporates space minimums from the Adequacy Standards and provides best practices for new school projects, replacements, or additions.
GSF Calculator
The Gross Square Footage (GSF) calculator establishes the maximum allowable gross square footage of a facility for state funding. It is based on school design and capacity and encourages smart, efficient design to anticipate future facility needs.

Facilities Assessment Database (FAD)
The FAD is a tool used to prioritize public school facilities for funding through the Public School Capital Outlay Council (PSCOC). Schools that have the greatest needs are generally prioritized with a high Weighted New Mexico Condition Index (wNMCI) score.
Its main function is to support Standards-based and Systems-based funding.
Every year a wNMCI ranked listing of all public schools is generated and used to determine applicable schools.
